On Wednesday, August 20th, catch the tribute crew right here on stage as they embark on their Wish You Were Here 50th Anniversary World Tour - hitting 100 stops (!!!) across the world all year long. They’ll quite literally be everywhere - including the Hard Rock in Atlantic City, Red Rocks over in Denver, Greek Theatre in L.A., the O2 Apollo in Manchester, Munich’s Olympiahalle, Arizona Financial, and of course - right here at Hartford Amphitheater in Bridgeport on August 20th.
Brit Floyd formed in 2011 with a mission to bring justice to Pink Floyd’s immersive rock show experiences that they were giving during the later half of the 20th century - not impressed with the only other cover band option available, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, who just weren’t doing the band justice thought band creator Damian Darlington. They formed over in Liverpool, U.K., and since their inception, they have made themselves the premier cover band for all things Pink Floyd. Darlington himself saw the band live back in 1988 and has been enamored with them ever since he first heard The Wall. He saw the band many times after as well, and absolutely considers himself a devoted fan of their work first and foremost. "I definitely listened to Pink Floyd. I remember 'Another Brick in the Wall' being No. 1 in the UK. It was December 1979. Probably my first memory of Pink Floyd. Then I actually heard The Wall album in its entirety and that's what particularly drew me to Pink Floyd about the age of 12 or 13. I was fascinated by the record that told a story, and all these sound effects linking songs together, and also the wonderful guitar work,” he once said in an interview. And since then, Damian has led the Brit Floyd group to shows all across the world - paying closer attention to detail with all the finite complexities of Pink Floyd’s original sound, and presenting breathtaking visuals that would even make Syd Barrett think twice.
You’re not gonna want to miss this one guys. And if you possibly need any more convincing - check the video we linked below from Brit’s performance at Red Rocks a few years back. Then - go over and grab your tickets, and let’s have the best time ever! We’ll see you soon, right here at Hartford!
